VMware Upgrades – Darum ist es wichtig, immer Up-to-Date zu sein

Ein Upgrade ist eine allgemein verfügbare Hauptversion der Software, die Funktionserweiterungen enthält, Fehler mit hohem Schweregrad bzw. hoher Priorität behebt und von VMware mit einer Änderung der Ziffer links des ersten Dezimalpunktes gekennzeichnet wird (z.B. Software 5.0 -> Software 6.0).

2. Minor Releases

Eine Minor Release ist eine allgemein verfügbare Version der Software, die eine begrenzte Anzahl neuer Features, Funktionen und geringfügiger Verbesserungen sowie Korrekturen für Fehler mit hohem Schweregrad und hoher Priorität enthält, die in der aktuellen Version identifiziert wurden. Sie wird von VMware durch eine Änderung der ersten Ziffer rechts vom Dezimalpunkt gekennzeichnet (Software 5.0 -> Software 5.1).

3. Maintenance Releases/ Updates

Eine Maintenance Release/ Update ist eine allgemein verfügbare Version der Software, die in der Regel nur Wartungskorrekturen oder Fehlerbehebungen mit hohem Schweregrad enthält, die von VMware durch eine Änderung der Ziffer rechts vom zweiten Dezimalpunkt gekennzeichnet werden (z. B. Software 5.0 >> Software 5.0) oder für bestimmte Software durch Änderung der Ziffer der Update-Nummer (Software 5.0 >> Software 5.0 Update 1).
